“Smart voting” is an insipid project, the main goal of which is not to solve problems, but to interfere in the internal affairs of Russia. State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin announced this on March 20 in his Telegram.
Thus, Volodin criticized the “smart voting” system, which implies that a citizen will receive a recommendation for whom to vote for, so that a certain party does not gain the majority of votes.
Volodin added that the leaders of the project are abroad, and behind them may be the special services of the West, who want to interfere in the affairs of Russia.
“This is an insipid project, it is not aimed at solving issues and problems of citizens. It is based on the desire to get into power, ”wrote Volodin.
The Speaker of the State Duma expressed the opinion that this autumn the elections should be held in an open and legitimate format, and the election campaign should be based on real proposals for solving people’s problems. Volodin suggested formalizing the promises of candidates so that later they could report on their fulfillment.
“It is important for all of us to move from political demagogy to substantive work, which means that during the election campaign we must make a choice in favor of the latter,” Volodin added.
Earlier, on March 3, the Federation Council of the Russian Federation approved a law to increase fines for illegal election campaigning to 500 thousand rubles. According to the law, fines for campaigning outside the campaign period and in places where it is prohibited by electoral legislation have been increased many times over.
On the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the electoral legislation must be reliably protected. Putin, speaking about the upcoming elections to the State Duma, noted that it is important to take all measures to maintain public order and the safety of citizens.
On February 26, the head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, said that postponing the elections to the State Duma was impossible, inexpedient and unrealistic. The elections of the State Duma deputies of the VIII convocation should take place on a single voting day, September 19.
