Russian tourists on average spent 3848 rubles on cards per purchase at domestic resorts, according to a study by the Russian Standard Bank.
Experts have studied the dynamics of sales of travel vouchers among the bank’s clients in May – August this year. So, most often Russians went to the Krasnodar Territory, which accounted for 42% of all domestic tours.
Crimea took the second place (23%), and the third – rest in the Moscow region (15%). Tours to Karelia (7%) and Altai (5%) were also in demand among Russians.
They were not included in the top 5, but trips to Lake Baikal and St. Petersburg are in significant demand, RIA Novosti writes on Saturday, September 5.
On the eve of the President of the Russian Geographical Society Sergei Shoigu said that the coronavirus pandemic contributed to the fact that the popularity of domestic tourism in Russia has grown.
He noted that citizens need to talk about the country as much as possible so that they have a desire to personally visit a number of its places.
