In Russia, the sale of vouchers with a tourist cashback has ended, on average, about a third of purchases from large players on New Year’s dates were made. According to representatives of the tourism market, the Russians preferred to book their holidays for the coming dates.

At the same time, the dynamics of sales among tour operators was different. TUI Russia tours with arrival in the period from 26 to 31 December accounted for 38% of the total promotional sales. The national tour operator “Alean” had a share of sales for the holidays of 32% of all booked trips with cashback. Anex Tour had the largest share of New Year’s sales by promotion – 60%. Intourist had from 20% to 70% of sales of tours within the framework of the campaign during the holidays.

At the same time, the share of online aggregators turned out to be slightly smaller: the Yandex.Travel service accounted for 13% of bookings for the New Year holidays, and the Ostrovok.ru hotel booking service had 17% of bookings for the period from December 25 to January 10 were made with a tourist cashback.

The tour operators concluded that the program should be extended, as it stimulated demand and allowed for hotel occupancy. It is noted that after mid-January, special support is needed as the low season begins.
