Rear Admiral Alexander Karpov, deputy head of the Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties in Syria, said that the Russian military managed to achieve a ceasefire and stabilize the situation in the province of Haseke, where a conflict between the Arab and Kurdish populations took place.

According to him, now the Russian military continues to make efforts to resolve the crisis in the city of Qamishli. In particular, the Russian military police, with the support of the army aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces, are patrolling the city’s districts.

Street battles between the Kurds and the National Defense Forces (NDF) units, fighting on the side of the Syrian army, have been going on since April 20.

Now refugees have begun to gradually return to city quarters.
