Changes in the procedure for entering the territory of Spain do not cancel the existing restrictions – the state can still only be visited by certain categories of citizens, but not tourists. This was reported on the Facebook page of the Russian Embassy in Madrid on Friday, November 13.

“In addition to the previously introduced restrictions on the entry of foreigners into Spain, from November 23, 2020, it is necessary to provide the original COVID-19 test by PCR in English or Spanish, made no earlier than 72 hours before entry,” the diplomatic mission said.

For citizens and residents of other countries, including Russia, the rules continue to apply in Spain, according to which entry is possible only “if there are documented grounds.” We are talking about citizens with a residence permit in this country, the countries of the European Union and the Schengen Agreement, holders of national (resident) visas, medical workers, as well as persons who provide professional care for patients.

Also, highly qualified specialists can enter the kingdom, provided that they cannot perform their functions remotely and this fact must be documented.

Allowed to enter athletes – high-level competition participants, crew members, employees of diplomatic missions, international or humanitarian organizations, the military, following to the place of duty, students, citizens following family reasons (must be documented), persons entering on humanitarian or force majeure reasons (also need to be documented).

Earlier on Friday, Spanish Foreign Minister Arancha Gonzalez Laya said that foreigners arriving in the country without a negative PCR test for coronavirus will face a fine of up to € 6,000.

The day before, the Spanish Ministry of Health announced that from November 23, all arriving in the state will have to show a certificate of the absence of coronavirus, the test for which was carried out no later than 72 hours before crossing the border of the kingdom.

On November 10, S7 Airlines announced that it would launch charter flights from Moscow to Spain, France and Italy from mid-November. However, the flight is allowed for citizens of the country of destination, EU and Schengen countries, or with a residence permit. The carrier reserves the right to exclude passengers who do not meet the specified conditions on the flight.

Spanish authorities on October 25 approved new restrictions due to COVID-19. The Council of Ministers approved the introduction of a curfew from 23:00 to 6:00 throughout the state, except for the Canary Islands. Presumably, it can be extended until May 9, if the parliament supports this issue.
