Major General of the FSB of Russia, retired Anatoly Tkachuk, said that the version of the terrorist attack was considered “very seriously” after the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. He said this in an interview with RIA Novosti on Monday, April 26.

It is clarified that at one time Tkachuk served as the head of the operational group of the KGB of the USSR for the troops of the Chernobyl zone. According to him, all versions of the disaster were carefully checked.

At the same time, they also studied the entire history of the nuclear power plant from the beginning of its construction. There was evidence that a number of violations were committed during the construction of the nuclear power plant. In this regard, a version was considered about whether the collapse of some structures was the cause of the accident.

Tkachuk recalled that ultimately the cause of the accident was the actions of the personnel of the fourth power unit, the human factor, “which brought the reactor into a state where an explosion was inevitable.”

The fact that the discipline of the personnel of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant left much to be desired, according to him, was evidenced by the earlier declassified documents of the KGB.

In addition, the veteran of the FSB spoke about the actions of foreign intelligence services, which, with the help of recruited citizens of the USSR, immediately after the accident, intended to obtain information about what was happening there, but did not allow data leaks.

The accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant occurred on the night of April 26, 1986. The explosion occurred at the RBMK-1000 atomic reactor of power unit No. 4, as a result of which a lot of radioactive substances were released into the environment. According to the conclusions of experts, the cause of the incident was a gross violation of the rules for the operation of the nuclear power plant, committed by the personnel of Unit 4. In Russia, the Bryansk, Kaluga, Oryol and Tula regions were the most affected by nuclear pollution.

Earlier on the same day, in an interview with Izvestia, the head of the laboratory for radiometric and spectrometric studies of man and the environment at the State Research Center of the Federal Medical Biophysical Center named after Burnazyan FMBA, Vladimir Yatsenko said that the miners who were digging a tunnel under the fourth block of the Chernobyl NPP destroyed by the explosion worked at temperatures of 70-80 ° C.

According to him, a month after the accident, the dose rate of gamma radiation over the reactor remained very high – 50 R / h (about one X-ray per minute).
