Fragments of the body of the fifth child were found at the site of a fire in a private house in the Sverdlovsk region. This was announced on Thursday, April 15, by the head of the press service of the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Valery Gorelykh.

“The remains of the last child have been found. He is the smallest [из всех детей семьи]”, – he specified.

Earlier on the same day, Gorelykh said that a large family lived in the house where the fire occurred. They had seven children and five of them died. According to preliminary data, among the dead, an eight-year-old girl and three boys of seven, five and three years old, as well as an infant born in 2021.

A four-year-old boy and a newborn girl, who is the twin of the deceased baby, managed to escape from the fire. Children with burns of eight and 10 percent of the body were taken to the children’s city hospital in Nizhny Tagil together with their mother. Doctors are fighting for their lives, said a representative of the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Previously, the family was registered with the police, but was recently removed from it, said Gorelykh. The deceased and surviving children were born of different fathers, one of whom is currently in the colony. In raising the offspring of their mother, her brother helped.

It is noted that the burned down house built in 1957 was purchased with maternity capital. Stove heating was installed in it. The oven was recently replaced with a new one.

Among the versions of what happened, he said, was a wiring malfunction, a violation of fire safety rules, a fire in outbuildings with a fire going to the house, etc.

The fire occurred last night in a private one-story wooden house located in the village of Byzovo in the Gornouralsk urban district. Its area was 100 sq. m.

According to the regional prosecutor’s office, five children died as a result of the fire. Five people were hospitalized, including three adults and two minors.

The regional Ministry of Emergency Situations reported four dead children and clarified that they were looking for another victim under the rubble. The department indicated that before the arrival of the firefighters, four people, including two children, managed to evacuate from the house on their own.

On the fact of the incident, a criminal case was initiated under Part 3 of Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Causing death by negligence to two or more persons.” The investigation of the case is under the control of the prosecutor’s office
