After reports in the media about the massive coronavirus disease among the guests of the Malina boarding house in Petrozavodsk, the Karelian Prosecutor’s Office is organizing an inspection to understand how the management complied with the requirements of sanitary and epidemiological legislation, the press service of the department reported.

The day before, July 31, it became known that an outbreak of COVID-19 had occurred in a private boarding house for the elderly. Of the 29 guests, 16 retirees were hospitalized in inpatient departments for patients with coronavirus. Three people were diagnosed with pneumonia, the coronavirus test was negative, and nine were positive. Two people have died. In addition, the workers of the boarding house also fell ill.
