Czech Prime Minister Andriy Babis said that he and his family were threatened due to the tightening of restrictive measures introduced due to the spread of coronavirus in the country.

According to Babis, the police told him that there is a man who wants to shoot him and his family members. The suspect was detained in Spain.

“The police informed me on January 8 about the existence of a man threatening to shoot me and our family members, after which our house was taken under guard,” Babis said on Sunday, speaking on CNN Prima News.

He added that he had to send his wife to Dubai.

In turn, the Czech police reported in Twitterthat a criminal case was initiated against the person who made the threats.

“In connection with the threats to the Prime Minister, we can confirm that the Prague police opened a criminal case against a specific person. The forensic experts turned to the prosecutor’s office with a proposal to arrest this person, ”- follows from the message.

According to preliminary information, the name of the person who threatened the Czech prime minister is Lukas Brachachek. He was detained on February 12 in Barcelona.
