The organizers of the Eurovision Song Contest presented four options for holding the event next year, as it was postponed this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the website of the competition, the organizers expressed the hope that in 2021 it will be possible to hold the event in the usual format, that is, with performers and delegations from participating countries and spectators. Under this option, the contestants will have access to various events in Rotterdam where the competition is to take place.
One such scenario is possible with a favorable epidemiological situation and the availability of a vaccine.
According to the second scenario, a social distance between artists and spectators is envisaged – one and a half meters. The organizers will have to reduce the number of members of delegations and the number of media representatives.
The third option involves reducing the number of performing musicians, and the contestants will be able to perform remotely, that is, from their countries. According to the fourth scenario, the competition will be held without spectators and without organizing other events in Rotterdam. At the same time, the participants will perform from their countries, but they will be included in a single TV show from the Ahoy arena.
The results of the decision of the organizers of Eurovision will be announced in early 2021.
