The oldest 109-year-old resident dies in the Czech Republic

The oldest resident of the Czech Republic, Maria Golikova, died on Monday in the village of Blizhkovice (South Moravian Region) at the age of 110, the head of the village Sharka Jezkova told reporters.

She noted that in July the whole village celebrated the 109th anniversary of their fellow villager. Golikova died at home, surrounded by relatives. According to the headman, she was a completely non-conflict person, she tried to help everyone. The oldest resident of the country did not smoke or drink alcohol.

Based on the chronicle of Blizhkovice, Golikova was born in this village and lived in it all her life. When she was 3 years old, her father was taken into the army, he disappeared on the fronts of the First World War.

According to the State Statistics Committee, a 108-year-old resident of Prague has become the oldest resident of the Czech Republic.
