The number of unemployed citizens officially registered in employment centers in Russia fell to 1.63 million people. This was reported to reporters on Tuesday, April 20, at the press service of the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation.

“Now, as of April 20, this number is 1.63 million people, which is almost 300 thousand less a month earlier and more than 2 million people less than in September last year,” the Ministry of Labor said.

The department drew attention to the fact that the stabilization in the labor market “is becoming a stable trend.” In particular, as stressed in the Ministry of Labor, the improvement of the situation is influenced by the policy of maintaining economic activity and employment.

At the beginning of the month, it was noted that the number of registered unemployed citizens in the country fell from 1.9 million to 1.755 million. Labor and Social Protection Minister Anton Kotyakov also announced positive dynamics in solving the unemployment situation in Russia.

In addition, on April 15, it became known that the Russian government will allocate more than 22 billion rubles for a program to preserve jobs. The program is called “FOT 2.0” and was launched in June last year.
