In Russia, more than 6 thousand patients with COVID-19 are in intensive care units. This was announced by the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko on Wednesday, November 11.

“More than 250 thousand beds have been deployed, employment today is 213 thousand beds, 2600 patients are on artificial ventilation, in general, there are just over 6 thousand patients in intensive care units throughout the week,” Murashko’s words are quoted in the transcript on the committee’s website State Duma on health protection.

The head of the Ministry of Health also said that most regions of the country have established the provision of free medicines to COVID-19 patients.

“Before federal funds were allocated, the regions were instructed to allocate their own resources. And most of the regions began to provide outpatient patients with medicines, starting in October, ”the minister said.

According to Murashko, 5 billion rubles were allocated for these purposes, which were brought to the regions. The head of the department specified that more than 640 thousand patients should be provided with drugs by the end of the year.

On November 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government until November 10 to allocate additional funds from the federal budget to the regions for the purchase of drugs to combat coronavirus.
