Russian families with children will have the opportunity to obtain a preferential mortgage for the construction of private houses. The corresponding draft resolution was submitted by the Russian Ministry of Finance to the government, according to a statement on the ministry’s website on March 26.
The Ministry of Finance proposed to change the program “Family mortgage at 6% per annum”. “We are talking about mortgage loans, which are issued for the acquisition of land for the construction of residential buildings or the construction of a private house on an existing site,” the ministry said.
It is noted that the expansion of the program will enable families with children to improve their living conditions. According to Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Moiseyev, the measure will make it possible to additionally issue about 20 thousand loans for the construction of individual residential buildings in the amount of about 79 billion rubles with an initial payment of 15%.
Over the entire period of the program, 129.4 thousand loans were issued for the amount of 344.3 billion rubles. At the moment, subsidies from the federal budget have been provided in the amount of 6.7 billion rubles.
Families in which the second or subsequent child was born after January 1, 2018 can count on a mortgage with a rate of no higher than 6%.
It became known last week that the Bank of Russia may consider tightening measures on mortgage loans if the rapid rise in property prices continues further. So, in 2020, real estate prices in the primary market increased by 12%
