Specialists of the EMERCOM of Russia, against the background of an unfavorable forecast of the development of the situation with ticks in the country and the onset of sunny warm days, made recommendations to citizens. They are posted on the website of the department.

“When going into the forest, use special anti-encephalitis suits that protect against tick bites,” the department noted.

If no special clothing is available, dress in such a way that a quick inspection can be carried out easily to detect ticks attached to clothing. As the Ministry of Emergency Situations said, it is better that the clothes are light, monochromatic – it is easier to spot insects on them.

The ministry said that ticks crawl onto the human body, usually from plants at the level of the lower leg, knee and thigh, and then crawl up clothes. Therefore, to protect yourself from their bites, trousers should be tucked into boots, and outerwear – into trousers. It is better to wear knee-highs or socks with a thick elastic band in the forest or park.

Rescuers said that ticks can also fall on the head from tree branches, so it needs to be protected with a hood, kerchief or hat.

An effective measure of protection, the Ministry of Emergency Situations emphasized, is the processing of clothes with special protective equipment against ticks. They should be used strictly following the instructions.

While walking, it is important to regularly check yourself for ticks. Arriving home, be sure to view the entire body in detail.

Earlier on April 16, the press service of the Moscow Department of Nature Management and Environmental Protection warned that ticks would wake up in Moscow in the near future. The Moscow authorities noted that ticks are carriers of dangerous diseases. If a bite is found, you should immediately consult a doctor.

On the same day, the city’s municipal economy complex was informed about the start of preventive work in the natural areas of Moscow in connection with the beginning of the tick season.
