EMERCOM of Russia proposes to introduce a licensing procedure for the provision of social services in private nursing homes. This was reported on December 23 in the press service of the department.
“The Ministry of Emergencies of Russia prepared appropriate proposals to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation on amendments to the legislation in terms of securing the need for licensing the provision of social services in hospitals to elderly citizens,” the ministry said in a statement.
It is also proposed to “increase the measures of responsibility” for failure to comply with the relevant requirements, as this entails a threat to the life and health of the elderly and disabled.
On the eve it became known that the Russian Emergencies Ministry in 2020 revealed 1.4 thousand fire safety violations in homes for the elderly and disabled.
It is noted that over the past three years, six fires have been identified in officially functioning boarding houses and nursing homes, as a result of which one person died.
The causes of fires in nursing homes were the emergency operation of electrical equipment, violation of the rules for the design and operation of furnace equipment, and careless handling of fire.
