In January, the prices for cucumbers (+ 9.7%), potatoes (+ 8.4%) and pasta (+ 6.6%) rose as much as possible among domestic producers. This is evidenced by the data of the Ministry of Agriculture from the monitoring and forecasting system of food safety.

So, as of January 27, compared to January 1, in Russia, the price of cucumber producers was 107.3 rubles per 1 kg (+ 9.7%), potatoes – 16.5 rubles (+ 8.4%), tomatoes – 108 rubles (+ 3.8%), carrots – 16.3 rubles (+ 3.2%). The cost of pasta manufacturers also increased – 42.5 rubles (+ 6.6%).

At the same time, prices for poultry, pork and lamb rose slightly – by a maximum of 1.7%. Buckwheat has similar dynamics – plus 1.8%. On the other hand, the cost of eggs in factories dropped: 10 pcs. the first category cost 54.2 rubles (-7%), the second – 48.9 rubles (-4.6%).

“At present, the Ministry of Agriculture assesses the situation in the food market as stable and sees no reason for an abrupt increase in food prices. The vegetable group demonstrates the greatest dynamics in January. This is seasonal in nature and is associated with a reduction in crop stocks in 2020, “the press service of the department told Izvestia.

From March, as the new harvest arrives on the market, prices will begin to decline, the department added.

In general, from January 1 to 25, the price situation in the country was stable, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Viktor Yevtukhov told Izvestia. At the same time, retail also fixes a seasonal increase in prices for vegetables: from January 25 to February 1, the cost of tomatoes increased by 19.4%, carrots – by 7.7%, potatoes – by 6.8%, cucumbers – by 6.6%.

The rest of the goods in this group did not rise so dynamically: onions – by 5.2%, apples – by 2.9%, white cabbage – by 2.3%. Cucumbers and tomatoes traditionally grow in price until February-March, other vegetables – until May-June, Viktor Evtukhov noted. Then their cost goes down.

“Currently, there are no plans to fix prices for other goods by analogy with granulated sugar and sunflower oil. There are no problems with supplies, “Yevtukhov summed up.
