British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace and US Acting Deputy Secretary of Defense Amanda Dory held an online meeting with NATO colleagues from Canada, Lithuania and Poland, during which the situation around Ukraine was discussed. This was announced on Wednesday, April 7, by the Pentagon’s press service.

According to the US military department, the parties considered issues related to the strengthening of Russia’s military activity in the regions bordering with Ukraine.

It is noted that the participants in the meeting “reaffirmed their strong support for the sovereignty of Ukraine, its territorial integrity and Euro-Atlantic aspirations,” writes Gazeta.ru.

In addition, they promised to provide training to the Ukrainian military, as well as support the “capacity building” of the armed forces of Ukraine.

On April 6, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby called on Russia to be clearer about its intentions in relation to the movement of forces on the border with Ukraine.

On March 29, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ruslan Khomchak said that Russia was allegedly building up troops near the Ukrainian borders. According to him, this poses a threat to the country’s military security.

In turn, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that Russia has the right to move troops on its territory at its discretion, this does not pose a threat to other states and should not bother anyone.
