Researchers from the Sorbonne University in France have found that a liar is capable of giving himself away by the melody of speech. Someone who tells a lie speaks the words more slowly, does not emphasize the words in the middle of the statement, but raises the tone at the end of the word. Scientists call this “sound signature” or “prosody”.
The brain of the liar’s interlocutor picks up this unconsciously, and it doesn’t matter what language the conversation is in. In general, the researchers advise those who want their words to be taken for the truth, speak more energetically, highlight the middle of the word and lower the tone at the end of the phrase, writes the Daily Mail.
