Experts have checked the oxygen content in the Vorona River on the territory of the reserve. Oxygen is essential for the life of aquatic life, experts said.
Before the freeze-up, in early December, the oxygen content in the river in the Ugolok tract (Inzhavinsky district) was 8 mg / l. In mid-January, the concentration dropped to 5 mg / l. The winter rate for fishery water bodies is 4 mg / l, so the oxygen conditions in Vorona were characterized by experts as favorable.
Observations of the oxygen regime of waters in the reserve are carried out throughout the year. It is especially important to do this in winter, when rivers are under ice and switch to groundwater feeding.
