The creation of a single information register is an event for all citizens. Alexei Gavrishev, managing partner of AVG Legal, told Izvestia on Wednesday, April 14.
“Previously, information about citizens was separately stored in various archives, often in paper form, which eventually made it unusable. Now there has been a complete digitalization of the archives data, which should lead to a significant acceleration and simplification of work with information about citizens, ”he said.
Earlier that day, the head of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, Konstantin Chuichenko, said that a single register would be created in the country, which would contain information about the entire population of the Russian Federation. He noted that the operator of this information system is the Federal Tax Service (FTS).
In addition, the minister pointed out that the project to create a register clearly reflects two main directions that will set the tone for the work of the Ministry of Justice this year: digital transformation of the legal system and client-centricity.
On June 8, 2020, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on the creation of a unified federal register with information on the country’s population. It was indicated that the resource would contain basic (name, date and place of birth and death, gender, SNILS, TIN) and additional (marital status, family ties) information about citizens of the Russian Federation and foreigners living and (or) working in Russia.
The law is aimed at systematizing the data contained in state and municipal information resources. The Federal Tax Service was appointed as the register operator.
