He said that the event will be held in a video recording format, it is scheduled for the 20th of September, so there is still time for preparation.

“A speech at the General Assembly is always a serious speech that takes time to prepare,” the Kremlin spokesman said.

Earlier on September 2, it was reported about the alleged speech of Vladimir Putin at the 75th session of the UN General Assembly. According to the preliminary program of speeches at general political debates, the leader appears in the seventh list of speakers.

Before Putin, the list of speakers includes the presidents of Brazil, the United States, Turkey, China, Chile and Cuba. On the same day, the Presidents of Iran Hassan Rouhani and France, Emmanuel Macron, are planning to address the General Assembly.

The UN General Assembly meets annually in regular session from September to December, as well as in January. This year’s high-level week will run from 22 to 29 September in recorded video format due to restrictions imposed by the spread of coronavirus infection. At the same time, the UN noted that, if desired, the leaders can personally come to the headquarters of the organization.

US President Donald Trump and the organization’s secretary general, Antonio Guterres, announced a possible personal presence at the UN.
