The Elista city court considered the criminal case of the former junior inspector of the supervision group of the security department of IK-1 (Elista) of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia.
He was found guilty of crimes under part 3 of article 290, part 1 of article 286, part 1 of article 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (taking a bribe, abuse of office and the use by an official of his official powers against the interests of the service).
The court found that from December 2018 to February 2019, a man received a bribe of 36 thousand rubles from a convicted person for bringing prohibited items into the institution: mobile phones and accessories for them.
He personally brought in a mobile phone, charger and SIM card that were not identified by the investigation, which he handed over to the convict.
Further, in the period from March to August 2019, using his position, the inspector received 96 thousand rubles from the convict for general patronage and loyalty.
It is noteworthy that the defendant pleaded not guilty. But the prosecutor presented comprehensive evidence of his involvement in the crimes.
As a result, the court sentenced the inspector to a five-year suspended sentence with a probationary period of three years.
