The swimming season ended in a number of Russian regions. The scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, Roman Vilfand, spoke about this in an interview with TASS.
According to him, the swimming season is over in Moscow, there are no more conditions for the water to warm up again. The season also closed in Ivanovo, Yaroslavl, Pskov and Novgorod regions, as well as in St. Petersburg.
At the same time, the specialist clarified that the end of the bathing season should be understood as a decrease in the temperature of the water to an uncomfortable one for bathing children. The forecaster added that adults, especially hardened ones, can swim in cold water, but children should not be allowed into the water.
Earlier on August 16, Vilfand said that night frosts are expected in several regions of Russia until Monday, August 17, inclusive. Also, the meteorologist said that summer weather will return to Moscow on Sunday, August 16. According to him, there will be no clouds that day.
In addition, on August 17, a short-term rain is expected in the afternoon, the temperature in the capital is 22-24 degrees, in the Moscow region – 20-25 degrees. On Tuesday, precipitation is not expected, in the afternoon 19-24 degrees. On August 19, there will be a small intermittent rain in some places, during the day the air will warm up to 21-26 degrees.
