Investigators opened a criminal case against the head of the Smidovichi urban settlement on suspicion of abuse of office, according to the website of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Jewish Autonomous Region on Friday, March 19.
Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev was in the region the day before. In the village of Smidovich, he met with residents who reported on the inaction of the local authorities in solving the problems of the housing and communal services sector. The head of the village suggested resigning, which Trutnev supported to the applause of those present.
Later, the governor of the region Rostislav Goldstein said that the head of the village “had already made all the conclusions,” and her resignation would be accepted in the near future, RIA Novosti writes.
According to the investigation, in 2019, an agreement was signed between the municipal government institution “Cultural and Leisure Center” Makhaon “in Smidovichi and a commercial organization to repair the building.
The contractor did not complete the work on time, but the head of the settlement signed an act of completion, on the basis of which the money was transferred to the organization.
A criminal case was initiated under Part 2 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Exceeding official powers”). Currently, investigators are establishing all the circumstances of the crime. The investigation of the criminal case continues.
Earlier on Friday, it was reported that two criminal cases were opened in the Trans-Baikal Territory on the facts of abuse of power when concluding government contracts worth more than 2 billion rubles.
