Driving license applicants taking the new rules exam will have to first demonstrate their driving skills in a real-world environment. This was told by the head of the traffic police of Russia Mikhail Chernikov in an interview with RIA Novosti.
According to him, future drivers will be “allowed to participate in road traffic, including on highways, parking lots, crossroads.”
Chernikov said that according to the new rules, the practical task “playground” has been reduced, but the expanded line of exercises will “enable the traffic police officer to understand how safe the driver will be.”
“We have a lot of young drivers dying on the streets. More than 700 die a year with low knowledge and skills received, ”concluded the head of the traffic police.
On September 11, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation published a draft of the developed new rules for passing the driver’s license exam. It provides for a practical examination for the right to drive a car, truck, bus or other vehicle only in road traffic.
The “cost” of errors was also adjusted: violations were divided into subgroups by one, two and three penalty points. Errors that cause the exam to end automatically are included in a separate list.
The entry into force of the new regulation is scheduled for April 1, 2021.
