Governor of the Yaroslavl Region Dmitry Mironov interrupted his vacation due to a gas explosion in a residential building in the regional center. This was announced on Friday, August 21, by the regional government.
“At the moment, the governor Dmitry Yuryevich Mironov decided to interrupt his vacation in order to personally understand the causes of the emergency and to organize the provision of the necessary assistance to all the victims,” Vesti.Yaroslavl quotes the text of the message.
As noted by TASS with reference to the Emergencies Ministry in the region, a group of rescuers “Leader” of 17 people and four pieces of equipment was sent to Yaroslavl.
In addition, the Struna complex from the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute for Civil Defense and Emergencies will arrive at the scene to examine the damaged house.
An explosion in a ten-story panel building on Batova Street in Yaroslavl took place at about 19:29 on August 21. After the explosion, a fire broke out and was liquidated. A woman died, four people were injured, they are in the Solovyov hospital. The evacuated residents will be temporarily accommodated in the district administration.
A criminal case was opened on the fact of the explosion. As a result of the incident, at least eight apartments were damaged, floors from the second to sixth floors collapsed.
