The prosecutor’s office in France demanded a suspended sentence of 5 years and 14 to 15 years in prison for Russian fans Mikhail Ivkin and Pavel Kosov. The French sports newspaper l’Euipe writes about it.

They are accused of “group violence with the use of weapons, resulting in permanent disability” of the victim. During the 2016 European Football Championship in Marseille, the Russians beat Englishman Andrew Bache during a brawl between Russian and British football fans ahead of their national team match. Since their arrest in Germany in February 2018, Ivkin and Kosov have been detained in France.

At the trial, prosecutor Christophe Raffin demanded 5 years probation for Ivkin, as well as the maximum term (14-15 years) for Kosovo, he is charged with attempted murder.

As the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov noted, Moscow knows about this case, the Russian diplomatic department is engaged in ensuring all their rights. He noted that this case has nothing to do with politics, since they came as football fans to Marseille.
