The flood situation has stabilized within the boundaries of Komsomolsk-on-Amur. On Monday, October 12, the river level for the first time in several weeks settled below the “dangerous phenomena” mark.
According to IA AmurMedia with reference to the press service of the governor and the government of the region, now the water near the city reaches 646 cm at the critical level of 650 cm. Hydrologists predict a further decrease within two days.
The regional government committee on civil protection said that at the moment the flood is leaving the Ulch district of the region. The ridge is moving towards the river mouth; by October 13, it should go to the Amur estuary. The water level decreases throughout the upper reaches. A serious threat to the Nikolaev area is not expected yet.
Also, the water began to recede at the site near the village of Bogoroditskoye, Ulchsky district. Now the level of the river has dropped to 498 cm with a level of dangerous phenomena of 500 cm.
On the morning of October 12, 52 settlements in seven districts of the region remain in the flood zone. 2212 land plots, 145 household plots, 1783 summer cottages, as well as 67 road sections and seven houses were flooded.
Over 100 people and 20 pieces of equipment are involved in the elimination of emergencies; evaluation commissions of 267 people are working.
