Tver Art College named after Venetsianov, the only professional educational institution in the field of painting in the region, is preparing to move. This was announced on August 6 by the Governor Igor Rudenya on the air of the TV channel “Russia 24”.
On behalf of the governor, the premises where the staff and students of the college will move will be chosen as comfortable and convenient as possible. It will be a major educational center, and the previous college building will go to the Regional Art Gallery.
Earlier, in April of this year, the current building of the college was recognized as emergency, it was prohibited to conduct classes there. The Committee for Cultural Affairs, together with the administration of the college, considered the issue of temporary relocation of the college to other premises that meet the requirements of educational standards – to house number 16 on Artillery Lane.
After the completion of the repair and restoration work of the buildings on the Afanasy Nikitin embankment, the issue of their further use will be resolved. In any case, the head of the region assured, the Tver Art College will continue its activities as a leading regional educational institution in the field of culture of the Upper Volga region.
