The family wants his body to be exhumed and an autopsy to be carried out, because they “have questions” after the sudden death of this 75-year-old man who had “no medical history” and was “very active”, their lawyer, Me Paul Latouche, of the Paris bar, explained to AFP.
The plaintiffs “are not in an accusatory or conspiratorial approach” and “do not presuppose anything”, they “do not say that it is the Pfizer vaccine which is at the origin of the death”, he specified. They want “that we can as far as possible explain the cause, in a context where nothing foreshadowed this cardiopulmonary arrest.”
This man, whose family wishes to protect the identity, died on February 15 at his home while he was gardening, according to Me Latouche. His body was immediately taken to the funeral home and he was buried four days later.
“No medical expertise was carried out on the body of the deceased,” said the lawyer. “It is far too early to say that there is a causal link, but we have a family who are wondering and a body already buried. We want to collect items so that the family has answers. Temporality raises questions. ”
Dax’s prosecutor Rodolphe Jarry confirmed to AFP that he had received such a complaint on Friday and indicated that a preliminary investigation was going to be opened, entrusted to the research section of Pau.
“The complaint asks to verify a possible link between this death and the fact that twelve days earlier he had received a first dose of the Pfizer vaccine” against the Covid-19, explained the prosecutor, confirming that an exhumation of the body of this man born in 1945 was requested by the plaintiffs.
