No signs of fire were found at the State Academic Bolshoi Theater (Bolshoi Theater) in Moscow. This was reported to “RIA Novosti” in the press service of the capital GU EMERCOM of Russia on Friday, February 19.
“The forces have arrived, there is nothing by external (signs),” the press service said.
Currently, fire and rescue units are conducting reconnaissance in the theater.
Earlier on Friday, TASS, citing a source in the emergency services, said that firefighters went to check the smoke report in this theater.
Later, a source from the agency, citing representatives of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater, told the firefighters that during the use of stage smoke, a gas extinguishing installation was activated. There was no ignition itself.
The Bolshoi Theater was founded in 1776. This is one of the largest theaters in Russia. The building of the historical stage is a cultural heritage site.
At the end of January, the media wrote that a column of smoke rose over Westminster Palace in London, and a fire alarm went off in the building. Later it turned out that the alarm went off by mistake, and the smoke turned out to be steam coming from the roof.
