Cardiologist Yuri Konev said that a person’s sensitivity to pressure drops depends not only on external factors, but also on panic from this very phenomenon.

According to Konev, meteopathy is on the verge between physiology and psychology, so panic affects a person’s condition more than the pressure drop itself. He also noted that an increase in atmospheric pressure is dangerous for a small category of people.

In particular, meteosensitivity is most often manifested in the elderly and children, that is, in those whose regulation has begun to be disrupted or has not yet formed.

“But a tiny fraction of people in the world are susceptible to weather sensitivity, so this problem is often overblown,” Konev quoted TASS as saying on Saturday, August 8.

The doctor advised meteosensitive people to engage in the prevention of their conditions together with specialists who will prescribe the necessary medications.

On August 6, it was reported that a meteorological service was launched in Russia, warning of dangerous weather during the day.

According to one of the developers, candidate of geographical sciences Pavel Konstantinov, the service will display the daily weather forecast in 30 largest Russian cities. The site displays a scale ranging from “cold” to “hot”.
