The Belarusian sound engineer Vlad Sokolovsky, who became famous after he played Viktor Tsoi’s song “Changes” at an official pro-government event, was again detained in Minsk. On August 21, Interfax reported this with reference to the man’s lawyer.
The reasons for the DJ’s detention are not reported. According to the lawyer, Sokolovsky is in the central office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, he is not allowed to see the client.
According to the police, “he will be released soon.”
In early August, the media reported that a family holiday was being held in Minsk in Kievsky Square, attended by opposition supporters. They intended to conduct a flash mob, at the same time raised their hands with white ribbons. Sound engineers have included Viktor Tsoi’s song “Change”. The court arrested them for 10 days for hooliganism and disobedience.
After that, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the sound engineers acted meanly.
Since August 9, protests in connection with the results of the presidential elections have not abated in Belarus. According to the Central Election Commission, the current head of state, Alexander Lukashenko, became the winner. People who disagree with their findings take to the streets.
