The square in front of the Ostrovsky bus station, broken by cars and buses, is planned to be renovated by the end of 2020. Dmitry Bystrov, head of the Ostrovsky district administration, announced this live on the Echo of Moscow radio station in Pskov.
He admitted that now this place looks “like after a bombing”, it is difficult to walk and drive on it.
“The station is the face of our city. There was only one difficulty before. Now it is being solved. Since the station square belongs to a state enterprise, and does not belong to the municipality, they did not have the funds to repair such a large area, ”Dmitry Bystrov described the problem.

He also said that now, thanks to interaction with the administration of the Pskov region, a solution has been found. The municipality has taken this area on its balance sheet and is now planning to conclude an agreement for its renovation within the framework of a subsidy from the Road Fund.
“I very much hope that we will complete this work by the end of the year, that is, by November,” the head of the district administration concluded.
