The 66-year-old, who predicted a “historic victory” for his former boss hours before Tuesday’s poll, will also have less influence after YouTube removed a video associated with his podcast in which he called for the beheading of two federal officials, NBC News reported.
These two federal officials are the Dr Anthony Fauci, a well-known government infectious disease expert since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic that has claimed more than 234,000 lives in the United States, as well as Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) director Christopher A. Wray .
Bannon said he would put their “heads on spades” as a “warning to federal bureaucrats”, referring to Tudor-era England.
Forbes said, for his part, that Bannon suggested that violence against Dr Fauci and Mr. Wray could be part of a “civil war”.
“The @WarRoomPandemic account has been permanently suspended for violating Twitter rules, particularly our policy on glorifying violence,” Twitter said in a statement.
YouTube, which is owned by Google, for its part mentioned that it deleted the video and gave the account a “warning”, which temporarily disables the download for at least a week.
“We have deleted this video because it violates our policy against incitement to violence. We will continue to be vigilant as we enforce our policies in the post-election period, ”YouTube spokesperson Alex Joseph said in a statement.
Remember that Steve Bannon was involved in the 2016 Trump campaign and that after the surprise election of the Republican billionaire at the expense of Democrat Hillary Clinton, he was appointed strategic advisor to Mr. Trump. The latter had sacked him in August 2017.
