The decline in the incidence of COVID-19 in almost all regions of Russia will begin at the end of November. Such a forecast based on statistical data was made by the expert on statistics and modeling of the Center for Economic Research Aghasi Tavadyan.

The scientist explained that he builds his forecasts based on the map of the regions of Russia on the prevalence of coronavirus, which was created on the basis of official statistics, RIA Novosti reports.

“At this stage, the forecast shows that at the end of November a decline will already be seen in the main part of the regions,” Tavadyan said.

However, according to him, a difficult situation is now observed in St. Petersburg, the Moscow region, also in the Crimea, Komi, Kaliningrad region, Tatarstan, Perm region, Chuvashia, Novgorod region, Karelia, Pskov region and Chechnya.

The scientist noted that these regions will overcome the plateau later than anyone else.

Tavadyan stressed that although the situation is stabilizing, one should not relax. According to him, one of the main variables that affects the dynamics of morbidity is people’s behavior, adherence to the norms of social distancing and wearing masks.

Earlier, on November 18, the WHO representative in Russia Melita Vuinovich noted that compliance with sanitary and hygienic requirements contributed to a decrease in the number of cases of COVID-19 infection in the Russian Federation.
