The first samples of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine will arrive in Hungary next week. This was announced on November 13 by the head of the RF Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov during negotiations with Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siyarto.
“The main topic of the meeting was the organization of supplies and joint production of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine in Hungary,” the ministry noted, RIA Novosti notes.
At the end of October, it became known that the European Commission will take action against Hungary if the country tries to buy a foreign coronavirus vaccine that is not certified in the European Union.
On November 5, media reported that Hungary will begin importing a small volume of the Russian COVID-19 vaccine for research and licensing in December 2020.
From November 11, the country will introduce quarantine measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection. The restrictions will last for one month.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban expressed hope that by spring the country will have access to two or three coronavirus vaccines, and in April victory over the pandemic will be announced.
