“The suspect, while monitoring the level of the chemical composition of the water in the pool, while in the daytime on April 24, 2021 at the workplace in a state of alcoholic intoxication, poured acid into the container of the filtering equipment with chlorine, which was not provided for this container, which led to a chemical reaction and evaporation of chlorine into the indoor air of the pool “, – said in the message.
The department added that interrogations of victims and witnesses are also carried out. In addition, specialists of the Penza Region State Budgetary Institution “Penza Fire and Rescue Center” seized the reagents and took water and air samples, which were sent for research.
“Forensic examinations have been assigned, including forensic examinations of victims, chemical forensic examination of reagents,” the UK added.
Recall that as a result of poisoning, 21 children were hospitalized in hospitals.
