A four-year-old girl suffered as a result of an attack by a pack of stray dogs in the city of Pechora in the Komi Republic. This was reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee for the region on Saturday, February 27.

The attack took place earlier that day in the courtyard of a house on Vostochnaya Street. The girl received wounds to her head, face and legs. She was taken to the Pechora Central Regional Hospital and operated on. According to the REN TV channel, after the operation the girl is in intensive care in a serious condition.

On the fact of the attack of dogs on the child, the investigators organized a pre-investigation check. As part of the check, the investigators intend to establish the reasons and circumstances of the incident and give a criminal-legal assessment of the actions of the persons responsible for organizing the capture of animals without owners, as well as the provision of such services.

The message posted on the official Komi page on the VKontakte social network notes that the head of the republic, Vladimir Uyba, instructed to provide the injured girl with all the necessary assistance. Also, the issue of providing assistance to a child is under the control of the Ombudsman for the Rights of the Child in Komi Tatyana Kozlova.
