Seychelles will open its borders to foreign travelers, including Russians. This was reported on Friday, March 5, by the Seychelles News Angecy portal with reference to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism Sylvester Radegonde.

“We hope to get a breather for our economy. There is a demand for recreation all over the world, and the Seychelles are also considered by travelers, ”he said.

According to the politician, the Seychelles intend to receive tourists from March 25, but entry will be prohibited for those arriving from South Africa. Citizens will need to have a negative test result for coronavirus infection, made no earlier than three days before arrival.

Travelers will not need to comply with a two-week quarantine, but they will be required to wear masks, maintain social distance and treat their hands with disinfectants.

On February 18, it became known that Egypt expects to resume direct flights from Russia to the cities of Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh in March.

Federation Council Chairman Valentina Matvienko, in turn, urged Russians to plan summer vacations in 2021 in Russia, since it will be difficult to travel to other countries with a guarantee. Domestic vacations will not raise concerns about border closures or flight cancellations, she said.

Regular and charter flights were suspended by Russia in March 2020 due to the global coronavirus pandemic. Later, restrictions on air traffic with a number of states were gradually removed.
