Several dozen people were detained during the protests in Minsk. This was reported on September 26 by the press service of the Minsk City Executive Committee of Internal Affairs.
“Several dozen people were detained within the framework of the administrative process,” RIA Novosti reports.
According to the human rights center Viasna, unregistered by the Belarusian authorities, 37 people, including four journalists, were detained at the completed protest action, Interfax reports. By now, the march has ended.
Earlier on Saturday, the Viasna center announced the arrest of at least 24 participants in a women’s protest action in Minsk.
On September 26, a women’s protest march took place in Minsk. Several dozen people came to the Komarovsky market. After several warnings, the police began the arrest.
Due to unauthorized events, the Ploshchad Pobedy metro station in the center of Minsk is temporarily closed to passengers, trains pass it without stopping.
Mass protest actions have not subsided in Belarus since August 9 after the presidential elections in the country. On them, according to the Central Election Commission, the incumbent head of state Alexander Lukashenko won. Those who disagreed with this result began to take to the streets. They clashed with the security forces, as a result there were injuries on both sides. Several civilians were killed.
