In some educational institutions of the country – for example, in Tatarstan and the Kostroma region – according to the testimony of teachers and parents, air disinfection equipment has not yet been purchased. In addition, there are statements that some institutions collect money for them from moms and dads.

According to the instructions of Rospotrebnadzor on the organization of the work of educational institutions, in the 2020/21 academic year, schools must use “devices for air disinfection” – bactericidal lamps and air recirculators.

However, according to the National Parents’ Association (NRA) and an express survey by Izvestia, such devices are not available everywhere.

– Parents from the Yaroslavl region reported that they have three devices at school, but they were bought with their own money. Moscow wrote that the educational institution has only one lamp at the entrance, and several more parents reported that where their children study, disinfection equipment is only in the corridors. In Kostroma, they said that this, in general, does not exist, – said the director of the NRA for development Marianna Shevchenko.

A teacher from Tatarstan said that she had not seen such recirculators in her educational institution either.

“We even hinted that we should ask our parents for money,” she said.

Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education and Science Maxim Zaitsev is sure that there is negligence or corruption here. He stated that the investigating authorities should deal with each such episode.
