Scheduled outages of hot water in Moscow will start on May 11. This was announced on Friday, April 16, by the deputy mayor of the capital for housing and communal services and improvement Petr Biryukov.
He recalled that the work is necessary to prepare for the new heating season.
“Every year, scheduled shutdowns of hot water are carried out after the end of the heating season and in preparation for a new one. This is a necessary measure for the high-quality performance of hydraulic tests, which make it possible to identify possible unreliable sections of heating networks and take timely measures to eliminate them, ”the deputy mayor said. His words are quoted on the official portal of the head of the city.
According to him, preventive work is planned to be completed by September 1. During this period, more than 16 thousand km of networks will be tested.
Biryukov stressed that earlier the water was turned off for about 20 days or more. Currently, the maximum period has been reduced to 10 days.
On April 6, Biryukov reported that heating in the capital in 2021 will be turned off in May. He explained that this will happen after the temperature on the street remains above +8 degrees for five days.
