Russian rescuers found the body of the fourth victim of the explosion in Beirut under the rubble, the operational headquarters said.
“Rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations found the body of the fourth who died at the site of parsing debris at an elevator in the port of Beirut,” quotes a TASS report on Thursday, August 8.
Earlier, the rescuer of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Andrei Nizhnikov spoke about the analysis of debris after an emergency in the Lebanese capital.
According to him, the main task of the rescuers is to find places where living people can stay. These cavities are carefully examined and rechecked. Nizhnikov also noted that Russian rescuers are actively cooperating with their French and Lebanese colleagues.
On August 5, EMERCOM employees arrived in Beirut to deal with the consequences of a powerful explosion. The next day, mobile hospitals were deployed in the Lebanese capital. In the first two days of work, Russian doctors received more than 90 people, including 12 children.
An explosion took place in the port of Beirut on 4 August. Killed, according to the latest data, 154 people and more than 5 thousand were injured. According to Prime Minister Hassan Diab, the explosion was caused by improper storage of ammonium nitrate weighing 2,750 tons in a warehouse in the port.
