This year, the electronic warfare troops will conduct several exercises. They will practice the skills of creating special zones that are completely inaccessible to cruise missiles, high-precision weapons and enemy drones. And next year, such maneuvers will be repeated on a national scale.
It will be possible to create practically impenetrable protection not only over army facilities, but also over social and industrial ones.
According to military historian Dmitry Boltenkov, electronic warfare systems hit several cruise missile systems at once. Interference from satellite navigation causes them to “get lost” in space and drastically reduce their accuracy. If you suppress the radio altimeter signal, then the ammunition will not be able to perform its combat mission as expected.
According to the expert, drones are even more vulnerable to jamming satellite navigation systems than missiles. Interference can “crush” their control channels with ground stations. Then they will not be able to transmit information and direct precision weapons.
On the eve, the chief of the electronic warfare troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Yuri Lastochkin, said that special exercises were held in the South-West strategic direction this year. More than 20 electronic warfare units took part in them at 15 ranges. Their simultaneous work was perfected in the interests of the Western and Southern military districts, as well as the Black Sea Fleet.
