Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, head of the department of the Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor Vadim Pokrovsky said that next year the coronavirus pandemic will begin to fade away.
“Next year, we will see the extinction of the pandemic,” the scientist said in an interview with the radio station “Moscow Says”, “everyone will breathe a sigh of relief.”
According to him, by the end of next year “everyone’s optimism will rise” and the economic situation will improve.
The scientist expressed the hope that henceforth humanity will be more wary of the risks of epidemics. He also recalled that other dangerous infections remain with people, which are harder to fight due to the lack of vaccines. He cited HIV as an example.
