Rospotrebnadzor gave advice on choosing sweet New Year’s gifts, the recommendations were published on the agency’s website on Tuesday, December 15.
It is noted that sweet gifts should be bought in organized trade places.
First of all, it is recommended to pay attention to the packaging. It must contain information about the name, composition, amount of content, date of manufacture, expiration date, storage conditions and other necessary information, and must not be damaged.
The expiry date is set for the most perishable product that is part of the sweet set. It is necessary to choose a gift with the packing date closest to the day of purchase, then sweets, waffles and cookies will be fresher.
“When choosing gifts for children, it is worth giving preference to those sets that contain a minimum of food additives, preservatives, hydrated fats and oils (trans fats) in the composition of confectionery products,” the statement says.
Rospotrebnadzor advises to pay attention to potential allergens, for example, peanuts. The composition should also not contain flavor enhancers, preservatives, synthetic colors and natural coffee.
Inside the gift, along with sweets, there may be a toy; it must be in a separate package intended for contact with food.
A sweet gift must be stored at a temperature of 15-17 degrees, otherwise the chocolate may become covered with a white coating, the department added.
Earlier, on December 6, psychologists told how to choose the right gift for a loved one. According to the candidate of psychological sciences Vadim Myamlin, before choosing a gift, you need to talk to a loved one and try to understand what he wants by external manifestations, which are expressed in facial expressions, look and intonation.
