After the devastating explosion in the port of Beirut, the government decided to help the citizens of Lebanon, reports Romanian Radio International.
Over the course of several days, the authorities, civil society and representatives of the Middle East diaspora collected eight tons of medical materials and medicines. They were sent to Beirut by two military transport planes. “Lebanon is a country close to Romanian society, where a significant number of Romanians live, and all our thoughts and compassion are directed to the affected people of Beirut,” said Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu.
