Richard Muljadi, a wealthy resident of Jakarta, Indonesia, decided to push the social distance rule to its maximum.
Going with his wife on vacation to the resort island of Bali, Muljadi, fearing coronavirus infection, purchased the entire flight. He announced his “trick” on the social network Instagram, noting that the cost of all seats on a regular plane was less than when hiring a private charter plane. He accompanied his posts on Instagram with several pictures of the empty cabin of the plane.
Muljadi explained that he and his wife are “extremely paranoid” when it comes to the danger of contracting the virus. “We do not fly by plane if there is someone else in the cabin besides us,” he said.
A spokesman for the local Lion Air Group confirmed that the couple did indeed take flight ID-6502 from Jakarta, but denied that Muljadi had booked more than two seats.
